Creating Confident Learners
Our mission at Growing Confident Minds Ipswich is to establish a supportive learning environment that provides engaging learning experiences with a focus on building social connections, self-worth, and confident learners. Building a community where students are taught to socially connect with others while valuing their own unique sense of self is our main priority. Creating curious, engaged learners who flourish within the classroom and beyond is what we strive to achieve.
STEPHANIE PEREZ
Founding Director | Growing Confident Minds
Hi, I'm Stephanie Perez, an Early Childhood Teacher, Dyslexia Practitioner and Founding Director of Growing Confident Minds.
For more than 14 years, I have worked alongside children, young people, and families across a variety of educational settings in Queensland. I am passionate about helping learners understand their strengths, build confidence, and develop the skills they need to thrive both at school and beyond.
I believe every learner is unique. By understanding each learner's strengths, interests, communication style, and preferred ways of learning, I create personalised supports that foster confidence, independence, self-advocacy, and a positive relationship with learning.
My professional interests include literacy and numeracy development, communication, executive functioning, educational transitions, and supporting learners to better understand how they learn best. I have completed specialised training in Multisensory Structured Language (MSL) and Neuro-Affirming Social Skills and am currently completing a Master of Disability Practice and Leadership (Developmental Educator) at Flinders University.
As part of my capstone project, I am developing the Ready Set Language Launchpad, an evidence-based communication and language enrichment intervention program designed to strengthen the oral language skills that underpin school readiness and later literacy development.
My goal is to help learners build on their strengths, develop effective strategies, and grow into confident, capable individuals.

OLIVIA PEREIRA
Dyslexia Practitioner
Hi, I’m Olivia Pereira. I joined Growing Confident Minds in early 2025, and I bring over ten years of experience supporting students with diverse learning needs across school settings, workplaces, and private tutoring. I’m deeply passionate about helping individuals access learning in ways that feel achievable, empowering, and genuinely confidence‑building. Nothing matters more to me than supporting meaningful participation in learning and opening up future opportunities for every student.
My background is in psychology, and I hold a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), with postgraduate subjects in Educational and Developmental Psychology, and a Graduate Certificate in Autism Studies. I’m currently completing my Master of Disability Practice and Leadership (Developmental Educator) through Flinders University. I’m trained in MacqLit (Macquarie Literacy Program) and am completing my MSL practicum in 2026 through the Institute for Multisensory Language Education (IMSLE), aligned with the Australian Dyslexia Association, to strengthen my delivery of evidence‑based intervention. I love working with students of all ages and seeing their confidence grow as they discover their strengths, develop new skills, and realise what they’re truly capable of. It’s a privilege to walk alongside families and learners as they build skills that help them thrive.
